2006 to 2007 - Mod DB v3

By Mod DB v3, the site was already damn popular, but this version is really what put Mod DB on the map introducing many new advanced functionality including detailed tabbable profiles, downloads, tutorials and plenty more. Love for this design was fairly universal, since the site was super streamlined, though navigating was confusing at times.

Mod DB v2 picked up where v1 left off, only the site design was white for the first time ever, and much cleaner (less gamey - inspired by ModBlog's design). The reason why was back in 2004 I was getting into the business world and I wanted a site which felt more "professional and official". Totally wrong for a game site which I soon learnt, but this site continued Mod DB's growth as it was super clean and easy to use.

The Mod DB continues the tradition that is making modification oriented webpages, and some may think it picks up where ModRealm left off however I can assure you this is far from the truth. The focus of the modDB is on the community, and hopefully building up a hub of users all interested in modifications who shall consequently partake in discussions, and other fun activities. So comon now, cease reading all this junk from me and go share your thoughts across this page, add your mods and one day the modDB will hit its goal that is a comprehensive searchable listing of every modification for every game ever created!

2002 - [BOX] Clan

Whilst my Clan [BOX] website has absolutely nothing to do with the Realms or modDB I thought I would include it in this walk down memory lane, as this site marked a great changing point in-terms of how I went about creating my websites. Prior to the creation of this website, I had always been design / GFX oriented and had never really coded my own scripts. I could program, however I had never tackled a web based language such as PHP, Perl or ASP. I decided this would change, so I let my mate snaZZy design this site, which looks uber 31337 to say the least, with my role as the programmer. Hence, I decided to learn PHP and over December 2001 I studied my little butt off by reading 2, yes 2 600 page PHP books. Before long I was able to make my own news scripts, member profiles and other uber little features... This has since led to the creation of modDB, with its hundreds of features powered by my 100% custom made scripts which all in all have well over 10,000 lines of code!

2001 to 2002 - ShockRealm

ShockRealm arose to fill the void left, when the ChaosRealm.com domain name was lost forever. Continuing the 'Realm' tradition, this is one site that is still in existence today, though control has since been handed over to HuntEr. The intention of this site from the start, was to have it as the Realm home, comprising of network news, statistics, information and the like. However due to the various mis-fortunes of the Realm such as Playnet demise, until recently it has not really served a place on the web. This is all changing with the talented HuntEr taking over the Realm. Since doing so, he has resurrected the damn brilliant Realm designs by howling, and revived / created new Realm sites namly ActionRealm, TheIRCRealm with more to follow. Backed by Mod DB and myself despite not running anything Realm related, this set of sites remains one of my proudest achievements considering it all begun as a hobby and a little challenge, and continues to grow today with many followers, affiliates and hosted sites all depending on a small Realm fix every now and then... The current ShockRealm site as seen to the left can be visited today, and hopefully in the future will truly serve the purpose it was intended for, and that is the backing of one massive Realm Network!! Until then one can only dream...

2000 to 2002 - ModRealm

It was towards the end of ChaosRealms reign of terror that ModRealm was created. While ModRealm survived, this site really flourished and was undeniably my most popular site as it popped up when few sites existed dedicated to modifications, which were quickly becoming astronomically popular. The first incarnation of ModRealm was using ChaosRealm v2.0 design rebadged. Few will remember that, what it was best known for is the design done by howling which has got to be one of the phatest and most functional designs I have had the honor of working with. Before Playnets (ModRealms) host demise on the internet, this site applied traditional and tried website tactics with a modification twist which really, really worked. Apart from sites such as, Total-Reload, Converted2, ModNation etc... as I mentioned previously mods was a really unexplored nook on the internet with great potential. Thus ModRealms popularity sky-rocketed as constant mod-only news, reviews, interviews and exclusives were dished up to visitors on a regular basis. This continued until December 12th when Playnet dished up the ultimatum that on the 19th of December (7 days) ModRealm and all hosted sites would be removed. Having well over 30 hosted sites, thousands of news posts and features I thought I would hang up my boots and give it all away, as I had achieved what I wanted and created a site which many loved. However I could deny myself website making and believe me, this was no where near the end of the Realm nor me on the internet....

1999 to 2001 - ChaosRealm v3

ChaosRealm v3.0 Playnet style was when I decided it was time to aggressively expand. To do this I thought why not make ChaosRealm.com, the main network hub site with offspring such as ModRealm to handle different areas of interest. (Namely modifications) This sites public stint was however incredibly short lived. Actually it never made it so far as getting online because at the time this site was planned to launch the domain name ChaosRealm.com happened to expire without me realizing. Unfortunately it was snapped up by some biblical website never to be utilized again. Never fear this would not stop me...

My first really fully fledged popular site. This site is really the beginning of it all drawing in hundreds of visitors and before long was hosting sites (one of which was HL Rally, a damn n00b site when it first joined the realm!) Having such popularity also opened a few doors with GameKey (now defunt) offering to host ChaosRealm and all affiliated sites. This opened many doors with a rather large 20+ site network developed and the webs largest static Mod DB, (very popular with the visitors). All was good and pretty until gamekey stopped responding to my emails and ChaosRealm started going to the shitta. It was during this rather gloomy period the perhaps the most positive event happened and that was been referred to a company by the name of playnet who were to host all my sites for the next 2 years to come...

ChaosRealm was the next evolution in my website creation. It was a big step up for me, as I brought a domain name and hosting costing a wh00ping $300.00. Three versions of ChaosRealm were created, but only one really ever reached into the public eye. As a special treat I shall reveal all

The first version of ChaosRealm was only in existence for under a month. Arguably my first semi good looking website it was released about the same time as Counter-Strike beta 5.2 when cheating with spiked models was becoming a big thing. Now in this stage of my life I was greedy for hits so I decided to dedicate this site to Counter-Strike cheats. I am however in no means a lamer and I believe ChaosRealm was probably the first ever anti-cheating site, which was dedicated to dishing up the truth to innocent gamers tackling cheaters in a game by game basis. This site was unbelievably popular for me at the time getting a few hundred visitors however it didn't last because many did not like the fact that it mentioned cheats at all and well I wanted a more broad website capable to sustaining a larger visitors base...
