back home second time

Well, finally the first 4 weeks are over.

It's definitely hard but now we got a bit more freetime and so I can grab my notebook to work in that time given. I'll start next week and what I'll do is basicly modeling and creating textures. About the mapping part, that I'll do at home every single weekend I'm home.

I'd a little conversation with MacX and he'll start working on a diary for the hero, it's not just kind of a questlock. It's more a little help for the player and it offers the possibility to read everything happened if you forgot about that. If you received quests, you can look what you have to do. But that'll take a while to realize that so you just wait.

That's all for this time, see you later.

So here am I, my first weekend back home. And I gotta admit that the army is hard working 100 or more hours a week. But I hope soon it'll change. Now the interesting part, if possible I'll be home every weekend to work on the mod. But the next big step is the demo being released on august 21, hope you'll like it. But for now... see you soon and stay tuned!

Upcoming Media

There I am, back from everything.
The alpha is just finished since a few days, first there were some problems 'cause of the size (540MB) and my internet was getting crazy, I had to upload twice. But now my testers are working or should I say testing? Therefore everything is fine now. Tomorrow I'm gonna upload some media and a lot of news stuff as well. But if you'd wait till sonday (or monday, I'm not quite sure) there will be a teaser-trailer made by my new sounder called keksus. But it's only 1:30 minutes to watch, so keep be patient.

New Media coming SOON!

Hello @all,

I know it have been a while. But now there's so much work to do... would say I can't stop mapping etc. Therefore I got no time to post some bigger news and create some media. But: next week, on Sunday, I'll finish the Pre-Alpha and send it to my testers. If this is done, I'll create some new media and I also will tell you a lot of new features implemented, for example a working money system!? Who knows. So hope you can wait a little,

a little break

I wanna appologize that there are now no news. But there's an easy reason for that, I have my pre-exams so therefore I have no time to continue working, I'm sorry. But next week everything will be fine so the work can go on and I can release some new screens. Another thing, in two weeks there will be a pre-alpha for my testers to have a look at. And after that, I think, I can tell you all the release date, exactly!

Mobile Phone, Project and Parallax Mapping(?)

I just added a screen of a mobile phone I've done yesterday, for now I don't know if I'm gonna implement it directly as a kind of PDA (replacing the old one) or if I just use it as a normal model. Depends on how much time I'll have at the end of the development. Well, to tell a bit about my project, still in progress and the Pre-Alpha for my testers will be playable in about two weeks. And I'm gonna inform you about what they have to tell. Ok, last thing for now, I wrote a mail to Junkguy who made a parallax mod. And I said, I would like to include that, so therefore, if he agrees that we can use his parallax mapping mod, the graphic of Desolated will be increased. That's all for now, see ya.

Lot of stuff to do...

As you can see some screens are added. But to be honest, next time there will be less information, 'cause I got a lot of stuff to do in school, my pre-exams have already started so it's hard to make anything for the modification. But after the pre-exams are finished, I'll have more time to work on. Why? The main exams are in april/may. And I hope the release in Q2 2008 will work. But there's one thing I gotta tell you: the mod will be released, no matter what happens!

And the people liked it, that's why I'm happy, definitely, just continued mapping more than usual. Also now created the snow particle, just check out the Desolated page on ModDB, 2 screenshots are replaced, "Facility - Start" and "Facility - Inner Base". Ok, that was all for now,

Introducing myself

Hi,

my name is David"DaveTheFreak"Scholze, I'm from Germany. What I'm doing now, is working on my modification for Doom 3, called Desolated: The Crying Fate. My hobbies: mapping, 3d-modeling, skateboarding, freerunning (also parkour and tricking) and the philosophies. Most of my day I'm sitting just in front of my computer, working on my project. But if the weather's fine, I go out and do some sport. But it's actually winter, so I got more time for working on Desolated. Now I'm 18 years old, I started with mapping and things since the age of 11, first tried to create games in Word or Excel, but that didn't worked very well. So I bought Morrowind and this was my start, then I came up with Dungeon Siege, WarCraft 3 and finally Doom 3 was crossing my way. And with this game I released my fist modification, Hell island. Now, after Desolated is finished, I'm gonna work with the Unreal Engine 3. 'Cause of that, I don't have much time for school, but I think, everyone's gotta make a decision in his life, what's important to him. And I just did...
For the moment I'm cutting the Desolated-Trailer, it's gonna come out at the end of this week. So, that was all for my first blog news item.

Dave
