Discovery Freelancer v4.84

Version 4.84 contains more changes than any previous Discovery version. Almost half a hundred original ship models were created for the mod by our community members. Many more faction systems received long-awaited updates, and 5 new systems were introduced. With numerous new weapons for fighters and capital ships, it became much easier to create versatile and balanced setup for any ship you like. More equipment types were introduced, including new scanners, thrusters, and countermeasure droppers. In addition to that, many profitable and dangerous trade routes were added, involving both new and original commodities. Top-level NPCs became more challenging than before. History of Discovery continues: while Kusari onslaught into Bretonia has been stopped, fierce fighting in Tau systems still continues. The Wild are building a Nomad gate in Omega, its destination yet unknown. Rheinland accuses Liberty of illegal experiments with Nomads in the Alaska system.

Freelancer Mod Manager (FLMM) v1.3 or v1.4 is required to activate this modification. After you download, rename this file from "Discovery483.zip.flmod.zip" into "Discovery483.zip.flmod" so that FLMM recognizes it. This is necessary cause ModDB.com won't allow to upload files with flmod extension. Open Singleplayer is integrated as a mod option, no additional patches required. Before you start 1) Before turning Open SP on, make sure that you have a backup of Freelancer\DLLS\BIN\content.dll file. Freelancer Mod Manager (FLMM) will delete this file during mod deactivation, and you'll need to restore it manually. If Open SP is not enabled, content.dll will not be deleted. 2) It is not recommended to install any other mods or patches prior to and after Discovery activation. 1.1 official patch is included into the mod. 3) If Discovery won't activate properly in FLMM, your Freelancer installation is most probably corrupt. Reinstall Freelancer,...

Freelancer Mod Manager (FLMM) v1.4 beta is required to activate this modification. This file is NOT compatible with FLMM v1.3. This is 7zip archive, NOT zip.

This is an Open Singleplayer patch for Discovery Freelancer mod v4.81. Open SP should be activated after Discovery mod itself. This modification completely removes storyline from original game. It also allows you to choose your starting location, starting reputation and credits while activation. Changing uniform is possible from original Discovery activation menu. You may choose player uniform while installing Discovery 4.81 mod before Open SP. Install Notes Freelancer Mod Manager v1.31 is needed to activate this modification. First activate Discovery 4.81 mod, then Open SP. You will see a warning that Open SP mod conflicts with Discovery mod. Confirm activation (press Yes). You will see one more confirmation screen. Press Yes again. Open SP is for singleplayer only, don't forget to deactivate it while online play.
To open this file with FLMM, please rename it, removing '.zip' part after '.flmm'. Discovery is a modification that expands Freelancer universe without spoiling it with unneeded or illogical changes. This mod retains atmosphere and balance of the original game, both multiplayer and singleplayer, and adds new interesting features, allowing players to develop and explore far beyond the limits of unmodded Freelancer. Those features include 93 new pilotable ships, 289 new systems, lots of new weapons, commodities and equipment, battleship encounters, improved artificial intelligence of NPCs and many others - everything seamlessly integrated into Freelancer universe. Version 4.81 introduces almost three hundred new systems into the mod, 29 of them clan systems. Many original Freelancer limitations were removed: maximum item price is now 1 billion instead of 10 million, player credit limit increased to 2 billion. Capital ship shields and turrets have several ranks now, making...
