Hey guys. I realized I haven't posted anything in a while (kids, take notes: life comes at you FAST), so I thought I'd drop by and let you know the mod ain't dead.

Although my first few models were simple, static props, I enjoyed modeling so much that I decided to jump off the deep end and start working on weapon viewmodels before (my self-imposed) schedule.
Now, 20k might seem like a high polycount - and it is, way too high to use ingame - but I'm going to be using this model to bake normals into a lowpoly model. It's also pretty fun to just load up and play with.
Now, I gotta work on the low-poly model, and then on to texturing. Ugh, how I loathe model texturing.

EDIT:
Aw shit, I knew something like this was gonna happen: I forgot to add a goddamned trigger! How the hell could I make a gun, then forget to add the /trigger/!?
That's since been added in, along with a rear ironsight. I'm in the process of removing polys, so stay tuned for the lowpoly+normalmap version.
Or, I might just grow a wee bit tired of this one and post some shots of my m1911.

A dusky skybox I wipped up in about 20 minutes, using source photography from cgtextures.com
I couldn't figure out good global lighting settings to go with this one, so I didn't post any in-game screenshots. Oh well.

Tried my hand at skyboxes today.
Oh, I've also been redoing the West end of the Metro station: the new windowframe models seem to be a little broken, so I'm gonna wait a while 'til I get some more work done on this area before posting any more screens.

I'm doing more texture work than mapping at the moment, but I think it's worth it.
None of these textures are photo-sourced, all are handmade in Gimp.

It's been about a month now, so I figured I'd post something.
I moved from the metro station over to the other side of the street sometime last week and began texture work on the apartments. All this is still WIP.

First attempt at putting two textures on a model simultaneously. I spent a day trying to figure out how to texture clusters in XSI, then gave up and spliced two .smd's together in a text editor.
I know that from here it looks a little cheap, but it's supposed to. The player's never going to get close to the sign in game.
